Red Bull motorsport adviser Helmut Marko spoke of plans to change the name of the AlphaTauri team next season.
The Austrian has not specified what the new one would be, but this is not the first time Red Bull has decided to change their team’s name from Faenza. Until 2020, AlphaTauri raced in Formula 1 under the Toro Rosso brand.
“AlphaTauri will have two new leaders in 2024: Laurent Mekis and Peter Bayer,” Helmut Marko told Austria’s Kleinezeitung. – In addition, the team gets new sponsors and a new name.
The direction for further development has been set – to use as many Red Bull Racing components and developments as the regulations allow. Designing everything on your own is the wrong way.”
Marco made it clear that AlphaTauri’s roster is likely to change in 2024. And if Yuki Tsunoda stays on the team, Nick de Vries’ prospects look bleak.
“In principle, Yuki is having a very good season, although the results and penalties are disappointing,” continues Marco. – But the main thing is that he has a high speed.
As for Nick de Vries, we are not satisfied with his performance and are thinking about what can be done.
