Guanyu Zhou inherited his mother’s interest in fashion

Last weekend, Guanyu Zhou was a special guest at the Dior fashion show in Paris, as the company is one of the sponsors. At a press conference in Austria, the Chinese Alfa Romeo driver was asked if he had plans to set up his own brand in the future.

Guanyu Zhou: “It is possible that these are the plans I will have when I am about to end my career – I do not rule out that when I reach Fernando Alonso’s age I will do something similar. (laughs) In the meantime, of course, I’m mainly interested in racing. But my family had a serious interest in the fashion world as my mother used to be a fashion designer. Maybe I got something from her.

That is why I am also interested in fashion, and since I participate in Formula 1, I can be myself and devote time to this hobby, among other things. And I’ll be happy if I can someday do fashion design myself – you can’t think of anything better.

When we talk about race matters, I believe our team is making steady progress and in Canada we took another step forward. We presented a range of new products in Monaco and have not introduced anything since, but it is clear that the improved C43 car performs better on fast circuits.

Although the track in Montreal is quite fast and there are also slow corners, we concluded that we are going in the right direction. Let’s hope this allows us to move forward and fight for points, because a very intense battle for 7th place in the Constructors’ Championship unfolded between Alfa Romeo, Haas and Williams. But we are gradually adding to it and I am happy that the cars now allow me and my partner to fight for points.
