Verstappen to his fans: Don’t drink too much!

The Austrian Grand Prix traditionally attracts thousands of Max Verstappen fans, and before its return to the Dutch Formula 1 Grand Prix calendar, the Spielberg race was largely home to the Red Bull Racing driver. On the Thursday before the weekend, Max gave advice to his fans.

“Do not drink too much! – laughed the reigning world champion. – Just watch the race and enjoy. I’m always happy to see so much support and orange colors on the track.

For the spectators, the advantage of the Austrian circuit is that almost all grandstands have a large visible area, which makes this place unique.”

The first Austrian Grand Prix since the death of Red Bull founder Dietrich Mateschitz will take place this weekend. When asked if this would make the weekend emotional for the team, Max said: “We have already gone through several stages without Dietrich, because we had no choice but to deal with it. We want to build on his legacy and we have always enjoyed coming to our home race in Austria. There is no doubt that we want to win this weekend.

I don’t know what our advantage will be. The weekend will be run in a sprint format, so everything can go well, but problems can arise. Now we can only speculate about our chances, but we will get all the answers on Sunday.”

This week the Red Bull Racing press office published a video of Max and AlphaTauri racer Yuki Tsunoda organizing a mega truck race at the Erzberg iron mine, near Spielberg. Commenting on the experience, Max said: “The races turned out to be quite painful! I thought the suspension worked better on these cars, but the car was constantly bouncing.

In the race I was not ahead of Yuki, but in qualifying I was faster. We had a good day and laughed a lot, that was the most important thing for me.”
