Verstappen wins Austrian Grand Prix and consolidates Formula 1 championship lead

Red Bull driver Max Verstappen became the winner of the 10th stage of the Formula 1 championship – the Austrian Grand Prix.

The Dutch driver showed the best result after 71 laps on the Spielberg track, the second was Charles Leclerc of Ferrari, Verstappen’s teammate completes the top three Sergio Perez .

Seven-time British world champion Lewis Hamilton (“Mercedes”) took seventh place.

Verstappen, who also scored a point for fastest lap, scored 229 points to secure the overall lead, with Pérez second (148) and Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso (129) rounding out the top three.

The next round of the season, the British Grand Prix, will take place from July 7-9.
