For the third time this season, the McLaren team leaves the podium with no points at the finish…
Andreas Seidli, team leader: “We are all disappointed with this result. The weekend turned out to be difficult – the car lacked speed, there were reliability issues, then a failure during a double pit stop during the virtual safety car. Admittedly, the opponents worked better and today we didn’t earn any points.
My apologies to Lando and Daniel – we couldn’t give them the car they deserved. We have to draw conclusions and be in the best shape in two weeks to get to our home podium at Silverstone.
Daniel Riccardo (11th): “Unfortunately we didn’t have enough speed on Sunday and we still had a few problems to solve. It got us out of the fight. You have to think about how you can do better next time.”
Lando Norris (15th): “Today we were unlucky several times, besides we didn’t have enough speed to fight against those we hoped to overtake – and we didn’t take the positions we expected.
It can’t be said that there was no speed at all, but it wasn’t enough to overtake, which hindered us a lot in the race.
We have something to work on. Today there were mistakes on my part, mistakes on the part of the team – you have to step back, do a reset – and next time you can do your job better.
