Sainz lost fourth place at the Austrian Grand Prix due to a fine, Hamilton fell to the eighth row

Pilot “Ferrari” carlos sainz Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) and Pierre Gasly (Alpin) lost positions in the final protocol of the Formula 1 Austrian Grand Prix due to fines, reports the press service of the championship.

Earlier, the stewards satisfied the Aston Martin team’s protest over the preliminary race results. It was found that not all runners were punished for leaving the track. More than 1,200 possible violations by pilots have been recorded.

After the end of the race, Science, Hamilton, Gasly, Alexander Albon and Logan Sargent of Williams received 10 second penalties, Esteban Ocon of Alpin was fined 30 seconds, Nyck de Vries (Alfa Tauri) – 15 seconds, Yuki Tsunoda (“Alpha Tauri”) – by 5.

So, Sainz moved from fourth to sixth place, Hamilton – from seventh to eighth, Gasley – from ninth to tenth, Windows – from 12th to 14th, de Vries – from 15th to 17th. Lando Norris (McLaren) passed fourth, Fernando Alonso (Aston Martin) fifth, George Russell (Mercedes) seventh and Lance Stroll (Aston Martin) ninth.

There was no change in the leading trio, Max Verstappen (Red Bull) retained first position, Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) remained second, Sergio Perez (Red Bull) third.
