Failed race in Spielberg for Haas F1 – Kevin Magnussen finished last and Nico Hulkenberg retired..
Kevin Magnussen (19th): “The car lacked speed. When de Vries pushed me into turn six, I went into the gravel at high speed. I don’t know if the bottom was damaged – we’ll check, but today there was no chance. We will continue to work on a higher speed.”
Nico Hulkenberg (retirement): “We don’t know the full picture yet, but after the first pit stop there was a problem that led to a loss of power and I couldn’t continue the race. It’s a pity this happened, we weren’t able to collect all the information during the race, but we have to use what we have.
We are surrounded by faster cars pushing from behind, forcing us to maintain a pace that we can’t always keep up with. On the positive side, there are two very good qualifying sessions this weekend – and a good sprint. No one can take that away from us.”
