Oscar Piastri gets new items at Silverstone

In Austria, Lando Norris finished fourth in the refreshed car, which was McLaren’s best result of the season. At the British Grand Prix, his partner Oscar Piastri also receives new items – the team is counting on a productive performance at home.

Lando Norris: “Silverstone is my home race, the team’s home race and one of my favorite race weekends of the season. The fans are amazing and I can’t wait to see the spectators in the stands wearing orange papaya. Our car is painted in cool Google Chrome colors.

Fourth place in Austria was a pleasant result for everyone. The car drove well and I liked to fight at the front. Thanks again to everyone who works on the base for getting new items ready.

I’ve been preparing in the simulator this weekend and working on further optimization of new products, so I’m happy to spend more time behind the wheel this weekend. We still have a lot of work to do, but I hope we will finish the double stages with a high result and earn more points for the team.”

Oscar Pistri: “I am really looking forward to my first McLaren home race. Everyone on the team is looking forward to it and it will be great to see our fans.

The stage in Austria was bittersweet, but it was nice to see progress thanks to the innovations that allowed the team to earn points. I’ve been working on a team-based simulator this week and I’m looking forward to trying out the new items on the track.

We perform in a special color scheme of Google Chrome. I hope the team will have another positive weekend.”

Andrew Stella, team boss: “The whole team is looking forward to McLaren’s home race in front of our fans and team staff. For many of them, the race at Silverstone is the only opportunity to see the cars on the track.

In Austria, the team achieved 12 points, which can be considered a very good result. It’s nice to see that the novelties installed on Lando’s car are working. Updates will also appear on the MCL60 Oscar this weekend.

Despite the encouraging result in Austria, we remain realistic. The important thing is to keep moving forward and making progress – at least a little, but every day.

The race track at Silverstone is very different from the Austrian one, but we hope to get another good result on a track loved by all Formula 1 fans and drivers.”
