Q: What do you think of Silverstone?
Nico Hulkenberg: Silverstone is great! The local crowd loves Formula 1 and is well versed in it. I feel their love and support. The track is great too, the setup includes some of the best corners on the calendar, which I really like, and it’s very fast.
I have fond memories of previous performances at Silverstone and look forward to getting out of the pits.
Q: The track is just 15 miles from the team’s UK base. Do you feel this connection?
Nico Hulkenberg: The characteristics of the track correspond to the description of our team – bright, fast, dynamic! We have quite a lot of staff from the UK and the base in Banbury is very close which always helps with weekend events.
I’ve been working in a team for over half a year now and I think I’m well established. Everyone was very open from the start, we like working together.
Q: After the British Grand Prix, the team will participate in the Pirelli tire tests. How important are these tests to you?
Nico Hulkenberg: We are involved in testing tire prototypes, new compounds or design options. For the development of the machine it is important to know what awaits us in the future.
In addition, this is extra time on the track, which is never superfluous. It’s gotten even smaller this season with sprint weekends and almost no pre-season testing so I’m looking forward to sharing this day with Kevin.
