The opening scenes of the Hollywood Formula 1 film starring Brad Pitt will be filmed during the British Grand Prix this weekend.
The network has pictures of the Silverstone circuit pit lane with fitted boxes belonging to the fictional Apx GP team, for whom Brad Pitt plays in the film under the name of the driver Sonny Hayes. His partner, fictional racing driver Joshua Pearce, is played by Demson Idris.
According to the plot of the film, Brad Pitt plays a former driver who became the owner of the team, but decided to get behind the wheel again to help his debuting partner. The film was directed by Joseph Kosinski and co-produced and consulted by Lewis Hamilton.
In the days of the British Grand Prix as part of the filming, Bradd Pitt will travel to the circuit between official sessions. The Hollywood actor will have to drive a modernized Formula 2 car with Formula 1 aerodynamics, which has been developed and optimized for shooting by the Mercedes team.
Brad Pitt’s car is equipped with small 6K cameras. In consultation with Formula 1, images of real races are also used in the film. Filming not only takes place in Silverstone, but also at other stages of the season.
