Alex Albon: Let’s try to fight for points

The next round at Silverstone will be Williams’ 800th Grand Prix. The British team expects to battle for points on the home track.

Dave RobsonChief Engineer: “Silverstone circuit is where the car and drivers are tested and after the races in Canada and Austria, the British Grand Prix will be useful to evaluate the performance of the updated FW45.

Both drivers will get the same car they drove at the Red Bull Ring last weekend, but they will each get one new aerodynamic component during the first practice session on Friday as part of our research programme.

This weekend we will receive the newly designed Pirelli tires that all teams tested in Barcelona. This design is expected to be effective when combined with rigid formulations. All three configurations should provide an optimal balance between efficiency and degradation, as well as the necessary flexibility in choosing strategic options.”

Alex Albon: “Ahead is a home race for the team, and in a sense a home race for me. I like this track – one of the best of the season.

There are always special races at Silverstone. This weekend we are hosting the 800th Grand Prix, so the cars will have a different livery. We probably won’t be as competitive as in Canada or Austria, but we will still be fast enough to fight for the points.”

Logan Sargent: “I am really excited to be back on one of my favorite tracks this weekend. I’ve always performed well at Silverstone and I like the fast parts of the circuit. Hopefully the car is fast and we have a good weekend.”
