Ahead of the weekend at Silverstone, the FIA confirmed the location of two independent DRS zones and track changes from last year.
The DRS zones have not changed. The vehicle odometer for the first DRS zone is 25 meters before Turn 3 with an activation point 30 meters after Turn 5. The second interval measuring point is on the 11th lap and the activation point is on the 14th lap.
The gravel safety zone in the first corner has been replaced by an asphalt zone. A concrete wall with a protective mesh has been placed in the safety zone between the fifth and sixth bends. The tire barrier from Turns 5 to 9 has been replaced by a new one with a modern tire binding system.
The gravel safety zone in the seventh turn is increased by five meters, and in the 15th – by eight. The length of the barrier between turns 13 and 14 has been increased to 260 metres.
