Alpine, Ferrari and Alfa Romeo happy with colorful posters

Everyone knows that Formula 1 cars also have wings, although they serve the opposite function of what an airplane has wings for. But these are still wings, albeit with the prefix “anti-“.

In general, Formula 1 engineering is related to aviation through perfect aerodynamics, because it is not for nothing that many specialists who successfully work in the teams of the championship have received training in aerospace engineering.

But the plane of the British aerobatics team Red Arrows on the poster presented by Alpine F1 for the stage at Silverstone looks very organic not only for that reason. According to a long tradition, seven of these Hawk T1As will fly over the starting field of the British Grand Prix on Sunday, after which the national anthem will start.

Ferrari hired Italian artist Claudia Janicello, best known for her work in the comic book genre, to create the poster for the Silverstone race. But in this case she was faced with a task of a different nature, and she coped with it perfectly.

The Ferrari poster is completely different in style, very summery, colorful and warm, and all the technological load is on the only element of the composition – on the Scuderia car, driving somewhere against the background of English greenery, moreover, along a road paved, it seems, in the days of Rimsky rule.

However, the comic book genre has not been forgotten either – the Alfa Romeo team, together with the well-known Prague studio Automobilist, resorted to it and created their own poster, reflecting another part of English culture – rock and roll.

Alfa Romeo poster for the British Grand Prix

The riders of the team are depicted as musicians of a rock band, who will perform a concert at Silverstone. The drumsticks can be seen in the hands of Alfa Romeo reserve driver Theo Purcher; Guanyu Zhou grabs the mic to sing, Valtteri Bottas shows off a guitar in the colors of the British flag and the girl playing the bass is Lena Buhler, a Swiss driver now competing in the new women’s F1 Academy series . Like Purscher, she is a member of the Sauber Academy.

Everything looks pretty nice and classy, but there are big doubts whether the poster reflects the truth of life in any way. Nothing is known about the musical inclinations of the same Bottas – he holds the steering wheel firmly in his hands, the hockey stick, coffee cup and beer glass – too, but the guitar…

However, the artist sees it this way, let’s not find fault if he gave free rein to his imagination. Most importantly, the poster turned out to be interesting. By the way, it also has Red Arrows aerobatic team planes.
