Indian driver Jehan Daruvala will make his Formula E debut with Mahindra Racing at the Rome round. However, he will only take part in a special beginners training session, which will take place as part of the official race weekend.
This will not be his first experience driving an electric car for the Indian team, as he took part in the April tests in Berlin and showed good speed.
Daruwala is already in his fourth season in Formula 2, he has victories and podiums to his name, he has finished in the top three three times this year, and he has a very good reputation overall.
“I am very grateful for the opportunity to join Mahindra,” said Jehan. “Testing in Berlin was very successful, so I look forward to getting behind the wheel of this car again in Rome.”
But the news shared today by the Indian team does not end there: Mahindra confirmed that Roberto Meri will remain Lucas di Grassi’s partner until the end of the season.
“I am delighted that Roberto will stay with the team until the end of the season,” said Fred Bertrand, head of Mahindra Racing. “He performed well in the previous two rounds and now we can work productively with him to fine-tune the car in the final stages of the championship.”
