Charles Leclerc: I’m sorry I missed the second practice

Charles Leclerc missed the second practice session of the British Grand Prix due to electrical problems with his Ferrari SF-23. Carlos Sainz completed 29 laps and set the second fastest time, losing just 0.022s to leader Max Verstappen, but noted that the team still needed to work on race pace and rubber wear.

Carlo Sainz (2nd): “Tough Friday at Silverstone. In the first practice it was not easy because of the wind and track conditions, but we completed the program, which allowed us to progress in the second session.

We need to keep working on managing tire wear and race pace. This will be our top priority on Saturday. Today we made sure we look good in one quick lap. All in all, I’m happy with Friday, but there’s still a lot to do.”

Charles Leclerc (without time): “The car runs well on an empty tank, but we still need to work to increase the race pace. Tomorrow we hope to take a few steps forward, although the weather conditions will be different as rain is expected.

Too bad I missed the second training. As a result, we did not run a simulated race, but we will in any case continue to work to prepare ourselves as well as possible for qualifying and the race.”
