Max Verstapenne set the fastest time in the second practice session of the British Grand Prix. His Red Bull Racing team-mate Sergio Perez lost less than three tenths and settled on the fourth line of the session protocol. Both drivers are happy with the car, but believe they can go even faster on Saturday.
Max Verstappen (1st): “All in all a good day for us. At the very beginning of the day the track was a bit slippery and the high pressure in the tires made it not easy to fly at low speeds, but all in equal conditions.
In general, our car is fast and we can be satisfied. I showed high speed in both sessions and we completed the intended program.
Speed over long distances is good, which is a positive. I would also like to improve the car for qualifying, but overall we had a great day.”
Sergio Perez (4e): “I am satisfied with how both sessions went. Today the team spent a lot of time working with tyres. Now it is important to evaluate the collected data, draw conclusions and understand how this information can best be used tomorrow.
I think we will be in good shape in qualifying and in the race. All in all a positive Friday, the car was running well and we were making progress between sessions. There is still work to be done tonight and I hope we take another step in the right direction on Saturday.”
