Alpine is satisfied with the effectiveness of new products

During practice for Friday’s British Grand Prix, the Alpine team tested the new front wing. Team drivers Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon set the eighth and thirteenth fastest time respectively in the second practice session and reacted positively to the new product.

Pierre Gasley (8th): “First of all I want to say that I am happy to perform in front of so many fans. Even on Friday the stands are full on the track, which is very nice for us, the riders.

We did a good job, avoided problems and did everything we planned. I’m sure we can get more out of the car, so I’m looking forward to Saturday’s practice where we’ll try to improve for qualifying.”

Esteban Ocon (13th): “It’s great to be back on this iconic track. Smooth turns are made in Silverstone and some bundles are passed to the floor with the throttle.

Speaking of the course of the training, in both sessions we learned a lot and gathered information that will directly help to choose the settings for tomorrow. Apparently qualifying will take place in different weather conditions, and maybe the race too, so the teams will keep an eye on the weather. We still have a lot to do before Saturday, but I’m sure we will show good form.”

Matt Harmon, technical director: “It is always a pleasure to come to Silverstone for the British Grand Prix. Many Enstone employees came to this podium to see firsthand the updated front wing they prepared for two cars this weekend.

The novelty worked as expected, and now we expect to add more to it through a series of updates in the coming weeks.

The day proved to be busy – riders worked according to schedules in preparation for the race weekend. We are certainly capable of more, so we will use the third free practice to adjust the settings for qualifying and the race.”
