Zach Brown: Looks like our season just started in Austria

Zach Brown hopes McLaren will become something of an “irritant” to rivals this season as the issues that hampered the team at the start of the year have already been partially overcome and the upgraded MCL60 car has gained speed.

“In Austria we definitely made a big step forward,” recalled Brown, who took part in the FIA press conference at Silverstone, the events of the previous round of the championship, where Lando Norris finished 4th. – Of course, no one stands still and the rivalry has become very sharp.

It’s good that Oscar Piastri’s car has also been updated this weekend, so we’ll see what we can achieve, but this is definitely a step forward, giving the team some good acceleration.

I think this is a confirmation of the work on the restructuring of the technical department and the modernization of the car, which is being carried out by Andrea Stella together with the whole team. I have the feeling that our season has only started in Austria.”

Speaking of expectations this weekend, Brown stressed: “I think both of our cars should go to the final of qualifying. But you understand that the top four teams can still show impressive speed. However, we would like to get annoying for them in the remaining races of the season. It seems to me that we are now really participating in this game.”
