Three-time world champion Jackie Stewart recently suffered a stroke but will attend the British Grand Prix.
In late May, 84-year-old Stewart was invited to Rajwa Al-Saif’s wedding to Jordan Hussein’s heir to the royal throne, but suffered a stroke and passed out in his hotel room. the hospital he returned home aboard the royal plane. He spoke about the details in an interview with the Daily Mail.
Jackie Stewart: “It happened the night before the wedding. I got up at night with a strange feeling, then I fell down and don’t remember anything else.
I was unconscious for a long time. My son Paul and his wife were also at the wedding, but they lived on a different floor. I don’t know how I got to Paul’s room, but I had to be conscious to get to him. They put me in an ambulance, but I don’t remember that either. His Majesty has invited the best doctors for me.
I wanted to get home as soon as possible, and the Crown Prince of Bahrain arranged for his plane to take me back to Europe. By that time I was already doing well, although I could hardly walk.
Now I am undergoing physiotherapy and I walk almost perfectly. Everything is going well – I’m coming to Silverstone for two days this weekend.”
