Vasseur: We must remain pragmatists

Charles Leclerc was fastest in last practice at Silverstone, but Ferrari team boss Frederic Vasseur suggests not jumping to conclusions. In addition, the British weather has already shown its character, as it drizzled during the session.

Frederic Wasser: “No wonder, this is Silverstone and the weather here is always changeable. But it was useful to do a few laps on the intermediate rubber.

So far we are doing well, although Charles had an electrical problem yesterday, he practically did not participate in the second practice, but today he started the day well. Although it must be taken into account that Max Verstappen has not yet driven on soft rubber. But overall, our car is doing well with the balance, and it seems that everything was fine in short runs of circles.

However, we must remain pragmatic, do not jump to conclusions and try to show the highest possible result. But this is a fact: in the two previous stages we managed to take a step forward. We are managing to keep races more consistent, the pace has probably improved a bit too, but the end of the championship is still very far away and the modernization of the car continues.

We understand that at Silverstone the load on the tires is clearly higher, although a lot will depend on the weather. But I suggest we focus on the upcoming qualifying first.
