Max Verstappen: I am very happy with the success of the team!

Max Verstappen won the British Grand Prix and increased his lead in the individual classification from closest pursuer Sergio Perez to 99 points. For Red Bull Racing, the victory was the eleventh in a row – according to this indicator, the team overtook the previous record holders – McLaren. The Woking team’s achievement has been in existence since 1988.

Sergio Perez, who started from fifteenth position, finished sixth.

Max Verstappen (1e): “I had a terrible start and we need to understand what this is related to. After the start, Lando Norris and indeed both McLaren drivers were lightning fast. It took me a few laps to overtake Lando, but then I was able to open a gap.

After the safety car left the track with soft tires, the problems started – it was not easy for us to control their wear on this track.

I am very happy that the team achieved its eleventh win in a row – an incredible achievement! But today it was not easy to win. The bad start made the race more exciting because I had to attack harder. Lando fought me well – great performance.

Sergio Perez (6th): “The start was really bad – I lost the position instead of regaining it. The first part I drove much slower than expected. I haven’t been lucky enough to get into the pits two or three laps before the safety car came on track. Anyway, I did my best.

The most positive result of the weekend is that I have speed on Sunday – it is on this day that points are awarded, and only those will matter when we finish the season in Abu Dhabi.

The team fully supports me and I am sure that together we will overcome the current difficulties. Tomorrow morning I’m going to work on the simulator. Hopefully I’ll be back on the winning circuit before the summer break.”
