Marco and Mintzlaff’s relationship improves

After the death of Dietrich Mateschitz last fall, management of the assets of the Austrian company Red Bull GmbH passed to his heirs, and Oliver Mintzlaff, who once headed football club RB Leipzig, is now in charge of sports programming.

It was said that Helmut Marko’s relationship with him was not developing in the best way, but it is from Mintzlaff’s position, who holds the position of director of corporate projects and investments, that the future prospects of both the Red Bull motorsport advisor and both Formula 1 teams are largely dependent.

But, as the Austrian press writes, the situation seems to be turning for the better recently. Mintzlaff is probably impressed by the success of Red Bull Racing and Max Verstappen.

“With every conversation with Oliver Mintzlaff, the situation becomes more positive and constructive,” Marko confirms in an interview with the Austrian newspaper Kronen Zeitung.

Red Bull GmbH is still 51% owned by the Thai Yuvidya family and billionaire Chaleo Yuvidya was Red Bull Racing’s special guest at the Austrian Grand Prix.

“Certainly, we are very positive that his presence has become more visible,” said Marko.

This Thai family also supports Alex Albon, who currently plays for Williams and shows quite decent results. Since Albon in 2019 and 2020. was a driver for Toro Rosso and then Red Bull Racing, then Marco was asked if there was a possibility for his return?

“Albon has always been a fast driver and he is doing great now. We are in constant contact with him,” the 80-year-old Austrian replied evasively.

“Probably Nick de Vries will not like these words,” concludes the author of the article in Kronen Zeitung.
