Christian Horner and Toto Wolff disagree on the technical regulations of 2026. If the Mercedes team leader believes that since this document has already been approved, no further changes can be made to it. His colleague and rival from Red Bull Racing thinks otherwise.
Christian Horner: “The more we read the 2026 technical regulations, the more detailed we become, and of course we use increasingly sophisticated computer simulation technologies.
We still have two and a half years to move to this regulation, and it seems to me that we will be excessively stubborn if we do not try to take full advantage of this situation. And if it is possible to adapt future rules to some extent, then every effort should be made to ensure that we do not get cars that are impossible to race.
I think it is enough to make minimal regulatory changes, and everything will be fine. It seems to me that this is worth doing for the general interest of Formula 1. In my opinion, the FIA takes this very seriously and the president of the federation has already suggested that the teams’ technical specialists trust to do with certain information. It is very important not to make mistakes in the preparation process for 2026.”
