Statistically, the 800th race in Williams’ history would be the British Grand Prix, but the cancellation of the Imola stage sees the team reach this important milestone in Hungary, and we talked about the large-scale plans to celebrate a major event.
This impressive program began during the race weekend days at Silverstone, but yesterday the whole team gathered at the Grove base for some very bright action, the results of which are captured in these photos.
The whole team gathered on the lawn, where the FW45, this year’s car, was rolled out and lined up in the shape of a huge letter W.
“Celebrating the 800th Grand Prix at home in the Grove,” writes the Williams press service. “Thank you to the team working at the base and on the racetracks for the great effort they put in in 2023.”
One of the first to comment on these photos was Felipe Massa, the 2008 vice world champion, who played for Williams in the final stages of his career. Instead of words, the Brazilian simply left a few emojis of applause on the team page.
Definitely, she deserves it not only for past achievements and richest historical heritage. Williams appears to be recovering from a long period of failure, and now that James Vowles has become the new team leader, she is slowly gaining momentum.
At the iconic circuit for Williams and its fans in Silverstone, Alex Albon in a very good FW45 car finished 8th and his young teammate Logan Sargent 11th – this is the best result for a Formula 1 debutant this season.
