Two interpretations of the events of the weekend by Leo Turini

The Italian journalist Leo Turini, summarizing the ninth stage of the season, believes that they can be interpreted in different ways, although this does not change the main thing: his favorite Ferrari team is still inferior to Red Bull, and this one gap does not widen. smaller.

If we analyze the results of the Canadian Grand Prix calmly and soberly, there are two possible interpretations.

The first option is dry and concrete. Of the nine Grand Prix that have already taken place this year, Red Bull drivers have won seven. In addition, the last six – in a row.

I will add that personally I have always found Max Verstappen to be a phenomenal racer. And with all my love for Charles Leclerc, he has been regularly inferior to the Dutchman lately, although it is unpleasant to talk about it. Of course we would be much happier if it were the other way around.

And now I propose to look at the events of the past weekend differently. I would call this their interpretation emotional and partly irrational.

Ferrari in Montreal performed confidently.
Very happy with Carlos Sainz, maybe it was his best race of the past few months. And Leclerc, starting from 19th position, finished fifth, despite an imperfect pit stop.

Given all the circumstances, we can say that the Scuderia has been able to keep the losses to a minimum. But is this enough? Certainly not.

The score of wins in favor of Red Bull, which I mentioned at the beginning, is objectively unforgiving: 7 – 2.

But if Leclerc confidently stated after the race that he still sees himself as a contender for championship win, who am I to deny him the right to dream?

The power of imagination is a great power, right?…
