The problems with the French Grand Prix have been going on for years. At first they endlessly searched for money, then for a place to hold the stage, having paid for various projects, including at Disneyland. Another idea – holding a street race on the Côte d’Azur, although Monaco is very close with the same stage, received the support of the President of France.
According to local Nice-Matin, President Macron has given the necessary powers to Nice Mayor Christian Estrosi, who previously worked on the retired Paul Ricard circuit.
Macron entrusted Estrosi with the mission to return to the calendar of the national podium, together with the head of the French motorsport federation, Nicolas Deschot, he will study several possible options for the location of the circuit in the country and negotiate with the leadership of Formula 1.
We’re talking about holding the race in the 2025 season.
