The Italian press writes that several Formula 1 teams are interested in Charles Leclerc. In recent months, representatives of Red Bull Racing and Aston Martin have conducted several negotiations with the Monegask about a possible contract.
Formu1a.uno, citing its sources, reports that Red Bull Racing representatives turned to Charles at the end of May to understand “if there is any possibility that his paths with Ferrari will diverge.”
As for Aston Martin, the Silverstone team is interested in Leclerc’s long-term services, when Fernando Alonso finally retires from racing.
The publication adds that Red Bull Racing turned to Leclerc, reportedly after Liberty Media’s Formula 1 owners expressed a desire for two strong racers to compete for the leading team.
At the same time, during the days of the Austrian Grand Prix, Charles Leclerc started negotiations with Ferrari to extend the contract. Reportedly, the head of the Scuderia, Frederic Vasseur, has made signing a new agreement with his driver a top priority at the moment.
In the same article, Formu1a.uno says that Red Bull Racing is not only interested in Charles Leclerc, but also in Lando Norris. Last weekend at Silverstone, the driver’s manager was spotted in the team’s motorhome talking to Helmut Marko. With the return of Daniel Ricciardo, however, one should not draw any far-reaching conclusions.
