McLaren driver Lando Norris says next season’s calendar of 24 grands prix is too inflated. The Brit believes that twenty races is enough…
Lando Norris: “I think 24 Grands Prix is too much. In my opinion it would be better closer to twenty. But there are too many paths. And they want to see us everywhere.
Twenty Grands Prix is a good number, optimal for the lives of mechanics, engineers, anyone who travels with us, who spend more days away from their families, children and so on than us racers – they have a harder time. When we talk about the calendar, we should speak for these people more than perhaps for ourselves.
In my opinion, the best option is twenty Grand Prix with rotation of tracks. Sometimes you want to visit certain places in different years. We can’t compete on all the circuits that people want to visit.
It is nice to see that the stages in one region were taken into account when drawing up the calendar for the next season, but it turned out to be very complicated and long. Still, I think twenty Grands Prix is the optimal number for Formula 1.
