The track in the Spa can leave the calendar

Over the weekend in Montreal, Formula 1 boss Stefano Domenicali showed the teams a concept calendar for the 2023 season, made on a territorial basis – with fewer flights and more Grands Prix.

The calendar has not yet been released publicly, it is rumored to have 24 Grand Prix in it, only eight of which will be in Europe. All eight circuits are already known, so problems could arise with the contract extension for the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa.

Belgian journalist Algemeen Dagblad thinks there is no reason for optimism: “The plans for the next season in Formula 1 are gradually becoming clearer. There are only eight places on the European circuit calendar. Silverstone, Budapest, Spain, Imola, Zandvoort and Monza have contracts for 2023. Negotiations with Monaco are underway, and there is no doubt about Austria, as this circuit belongs to Red Bull. So all eight European dates have already been booked.”
