Alfa Romeo is second to last in the Constructors’ Championship, but the points difference is so small that any race can make a difference…
Alessandro Alunni Bravi, Managing Director of the Sauber Group and spokesperson for the Alfa Romeo team: “We are going to Hungary with the desire to bounce back after difficult races at Spielberg and Silverstone. We expected more from this grands prix with the upgrades we’ve brought to the UK, but we’ve taken a closer look at our latest results and thought about how we can optimize the aerodynamics. On the positive side, we have improved our race pace, which gives us more confidence for the race ahead.”
Valttery Bottas: “It is good that we have had time to get back to work after the previous phase, in which we did not get the results we expected. We focused on preparing for the remaining races before the summer break, I worked on the simulator, trying to find something that would help over the weekend.
The novelties we brought to Silverstone allowed us to add some speed, although we didn’t realize their full potential. In the past I have always enjoyed racing at the Hungaroring, for a Finnish rider this race is almost home. I like the atmosphere of the old song. The only task is to earn points.
Guanyu Zhou: “Every new race brings new opportunities. Stages in Spielberg and Silverstone were difficult for the team, but they are behind us and work continues at our base in Hinwil.
In the last Grand Prix, our main rivals took a step forward, but I am confident that we will be able to catch up with them and get back to the fray.
