Lando Norris finished second in the British Grand Prix but is realistic about his chances in the Hungarian leg of the championship and does not expect to repeat the recent success.
Lando Norris: “I was on the podium at Silverstone, so we had a lot to celebrate last week, but I had time to rest and prepare for this weekend.
I’m glad my former partner Daniel is returning to the championship – let’s see how he performs. In general, both me and our team are in a good mood, we are doing many things correctly and have made significant progress in recent weeks. We hope McLaren continues to make progress this weekend.
But the Hungarian circuit has its own characteristics, there are more slow corners, so it will be interesting to see how our car handles that. Although we can say in advance that we have a little less confidence than on Silverstone.
You never know how it will turn out though, because even last year we performed well despite the problematic car (Norris was then 4th in qualifying and finished seventh). We may not be able to repeat the result from Silverstone, but if we manage to compete on an equal footing with the riders of the top four teams, we should already be pleased.
