On Thursday, in the paddock of the Hungarian Grand Prix, Kevin Magnussen received congratulations – on Monday his second daughter was born, whom her parents named Agnes. Mother and baby are doing well, and Kevin is in a great mood to get ready for the weekend.
“The last days after the birth of my daughter were amazing,” said the happy father. “I felt a bit weird leaving my family for a stage in Hungary, but I’m really happy!”
Kevin assessed the prospects for Haas this weekend and said: “I see every race as another opportunity to earn points. Anything can happen in Formula 1.
The team is well aware that we are now behind rivals and not in as good shape as when I last scored points. Now it’s much harder for us to fight to get into the top ten than it was back then, but there are always opportunities.
In one fast lap our car is competitive, but in a race it is much more difficult to keep pace and control tire wear. It’s difficult to overtake on this track, so if we can qualify well it will be easier for us to hold the position.”
