Mercedes driver george russell set the fastest time in the first free practice of the Formula 1 Hungarian Grand Prix.
The Briton’s best lap time is 1 minute 38.795 seconds. The second was Oscar Piastri from McLaren (delay – 0.359 seconds), Lance Stroll closed the top three (Aston Martin, +1.218). At the start of the race it started to rain a little, the Red Bull driver Sergio Perez rolled on the grass and crashed into a barrier. The session was suspended, after which Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz crashed into the fence, practice was again interrupted.
The second training will take place later on Friday.
