McLaren Racing has announced a long-term partnership with Goldman Sachs Group Inc, one of the largest investment banks in the world – from 2022, the American financial conglomerate will become an official partner of the Formula 1 team.
According to a press release from McLaren, the economies of the developed world have set themselves the goal of achieving carbon neutrality in the future, and the two organizations are united by the belief that sustainable development involves not only caring for the environment, but also social and economic aspects.
Goldman Sachs and McLaren will use their experience and expertise to help the team move more dynamically towards carbon neutrality, which is expected to be achieved by 2040, but will have already reduced greenhouse gas emissions by 50% by 2030.
Goldman Sachs logos are already appearing on McLaren cars during the British Grand Prix.
Zack Brown, CEO of McLaren Racing said: “We are very pleased to announce our partnership with Goldman Sachs, a global financial institution that shares McLaren’s values and recognizes the importance of sustainability.
Goldman Sachs will be an important partner and invaluable support for our long-term ambition to accelerate this process.”
