The Williams drivers were outside the top 10 after Friday’s practice at the Hungaroring, but as Alex Albon stressed this is generally in line with the team’s expectations.
Alex Albon (13th): “Friday practice is over and I think the day went well overall. Given the capabilities of our car, we are about at the level we expected.
We know that this circuit is not very suitable for the FW45, and yet we are doing even a little better than we thought. Especially if you remember the situation we were in Hungary last year.
It seems that the car is making a good impression, but we have to keep working, because we still lack the speed. We will try to improve tomorrow if we want to qualify for the second part of qualifying.”
Logan Sargent (17th): “The first day of the Hungarian weekend was not very smooth, the first and second sessions were held in different conditions. But the car has a fairly normal balance, although there is still quite a bit of work to be done to prepare for tomorrow.”
