Charles Leclerc led the minutes of the second session of the free races of the Hungarian Grand Prix. The Ferrari driver said he had gone through the entire program but insisted not to jump to conclusions about the balance of power.
His teammate Carlos Sainz showed the tenth fastest time and complained that he was hampered by traffic during a fast lap.
Charles Leclerc (1st): “Overall a good day, but it’s hard to judge the balance of power as everyone worked on different programs to prepare for the updated qualifying format.
We’ve done everything we planned and the car is well under control. Let’s see what we can do tomorrow.”
Carlo Sainz (10th): “Strange Friday. During the first practice session the rain got in the way and in the second we worked on a program that took into account the reduction of available sets of tires this weekend.
On a fast lap with an empty tank I ended up in traffic, while on a long lap the feeling is much better, although I didn’t get to do many laps. Overall, there’s potential to add on Saturdays, so we’ll keep working.
