Aston Martin drivers have mixed feelings after Friday’s practice in Hungary. If Fernando Alonso is optimistic, his teammate Lance Stroll says there is still work to be done with the car to find the optimal settings for qualifying.
Fernando Alonso (8th): “Tough day at the Hungaroring due to rain and wind. We lost time in the first practice session, but everyone is on an equal footing. I think the team did their best in the second free practice session and gathered a lot of useful information during the preparation for the race.
In general I am satisfied with today. Let’s see what results we can get in qualifying, which I hope will be held in dry weather.”
Lance walk (12th): “It was nice to be back at the Hungaroring – I really enjoy piloting this track. Work in the first session was limited – I only completed ten laps due to the heavy rain. The second training session was tougher because we had to do a lot of testing on the AMR23. Luckily there was no rain, which allowed us to do a lot of laps and complete most of the program.
I think we still have to adjust the settings for qualifying. In the evening we have to work to prepare for tomorrow.
