In the final segment, the Briton clocked 1 minute 16.609 seconds. This is Hamilton’s first pole position since 2021.
Championship leader Max Verstappen (Red Bull) only lost three thousandths of a second to him and became second. The third result was shown by McLaren driver Lando Norris (+0.085).
Verstappen’s teammate Sergio Pérez, second in the individual standings, reached the third segment for the first time since the Miami Grand Prix, which took place in early May.
