Lando Norris qualified third in Hungary, less than tenth behind Lewis Hamilton. The McLaren driver believes that if he had driven a clean circle he could have won pole position.
Lando Norris (3rd): “I’m disappointed. If you are less than a tenth behind, you get the feeling that you should have won pole if you had a clear lap. But if we evaluate the results in the complex, then I am satisfied. The team did a great job – third and fourth place at the start – the weekend is going well.
As a driver I’m not happy because I made a lot of mistakes that cost me dearly today. I didn’t get a clean lap, but there’s always a risk when you try to push a little more. Nothing serious, but I could definitely go tenths faster.
On the one hand, this result is disappointing, but on the other hand, third place at the start is also a good result.”
Oscar Pistri (4th): “I am very happy with my result. The third part of qualifying was worse than I thought, but I managed to get on the second row.
The day was a positive one for the team – and that’s entirely to its credit. Next time I will try to go even faster, but so far fourth place is a great result!”.
