Formula 1 strives to be closer to a young audience

Formula 1, together with broadcaster Sky, shared the details of the new project, which will be tested for the first time during the days of the Hungarian race weekend.

In addition to the regular Hungaroring broadcast, there will also be a special children’s show that will be available to young motorsport fans in both the UK and Germany.

The children’s version of the broadcast will contain special, understandable and interesting 3D graphics, animated videos, and special attention will be paid to explaining the technical features of the races in the most popular way.

In addition, for the first time, funny “cartoon” avatars drawn for all 20 drivers of the championship will be shown.

The UK version of the broadcast is hosted by young commentators Braydon, Scarlett and karting driver Zach, and is joined by Nico Rosberg, 2016 world champion, and Danica Patrick, an American racing driver known for her appearances in IndyCar and NASCAR and now successfully working with various television networks.

Phoenix, Ruby and Carl will get to work in front of the German public, along with this year’s Formula 3 driver Sophia Flörsch, assisted by Sky Deutschland’s in-house commentators.

In both cases, the programs are broadcast on Sunday afternoons.

“We are delighted to be able to offer our young fans this special version of the broadcast,” said Ian Holmes, FOM director of media rights and content. “As the popularity of Formula 1 continues to grow, it is exciting that together with our long-standing partners at Sky we have been able to create something that will bring the drama and excitement of Formula 1 to a new generation of fans.”
