Red Bull set a new record for consecutive wins on Sunday, surpassing McLaren’s 1988 streak of 11 wins.
Verstappen’s win at the Hungaroring was his most impressive victory of the season, gaining 33 seconds over Lando Norris, who finished second.
Speaking about this victory, team leader Christian Horner paid tribute to his employees, because Red Bull Racing can win the constructors’ championship ahead of schedule immediately after the summer break – already at the Italian Grand Prix in Monza.
Christian Horner: “We made history this weekend. This is a special achievement for our entire team. Setting a new record of 12 consecutive Grand Prix wins, beating the 1988 McLaren record with Ayrton Senna and Alan Prost under Ron Dennis, is incredible. That no one can take away from us.
How long will the winning streak last? Who knows. A new challenge awaits us this week: a weekend in Spa in the form of a sprint on Saturday in changeable weather. Anything can happen there. We go from stage to stage and aim to get the best possible result every race weekend.”
