The Haas team announced a philanthropic partnership with the Starlight Children’s Foundation, which provides support to critically ill children and their families in US hospitals.
As part of the partnership, the Formula 1 team will support the Foundation’s various programs, and on US Grand Prix days, Haas employees, including drivers, will visit children in local hospitals. Some patients may attend races as team guests.
As part of the partnership, Haas chief Gunther Steiner and team reserve rider Pietro Fittipaldi visited Levine Children’s Hospital in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Gunther Steiner: “The Haas team has a platform to raise awareness and highlight the incredible work of those who need support, and I feel we have a responsibility to do more.
I am proud of our partnership with Starlight and very happy that we can help with their charitable work in various areas. Together we strive for a positive experience for seriously ill children.”
Pietro Fittipaldi: “I can only imagine how traumatic it is for a child to end up in a hospital and be away from the comfort of home. After playing with children for a while, it becomes clear how important any possibility for mental distraction from the treatment is.
Thanks to Günther for inviting me to the first event of our collaboration – this day will remain in my memory for a long time.”
