Racers spend their summer holidays in different ways, this is a personal choice of each of them, but everyone remembers that the second part of the championship will be even denser and richer in events than the first: 10 Grand Prix will be held in 14 to soften. Therefore, of course, it is necessary to relax well and gain strength. The question is how to spend this short break and with maximum benefit, and so that later it would be nice to remember …
“I don’t know yet where I will spend my vacation,” Oscar Piastri frankly admitted when asked about this some time ago. – They’re not that tall so I’ll be somewhere near the UK as I live there. Maybe somewhere in Europe. I hope in some warm regions and on the ocean, although this limits the choice of options considerably.
But this is a very important period. Sometimes our work can be very tiring, so we need to take a break from everything and recover. During the season we only have two or three days off in a row, so now that we have two weeks it is extremely important that everyone relaxes and recharges their batteries.
In general, the priority task for summer vacation is how to get enough sleep. In addition, we need to restore a more regular training schedule, because it is difficult to work on the physical form when there are so many matches. We are constantly busy, so this is a good opportunity to get some practice before the races start again.
Together with Kim Kiddle, my coach, I will spend a considerable part of the summer holidays in the UK and train quite intensively. This will help me race with more confidence in the second half of the season.
It will be very intense, we are waiting for several series of three races, so it is important to constantly maintain a good physical condition and train where possible. And of course spending time with friends and family is just as important.”
