Lance Stroll is eighteenth in the individual standings and has earned just three points – ten less than team-mate Sebastian Vettel. The Canadian Aston Martin racer explains his low results due to lack of confidence in the car.
Lance Stroll: “We are constantly learning, but I have to make sure that I feel more comfortable in the car. I’m not completely confident in the car, I can’t predict its reaction to my actions, so I lack accuracy in driving.
We are working to correct the situation so that I can regain the confidence I had last year and the year before when the car was more predictable and I was more comfortable behind the wheel. Right now it’s quite difficult for me, but we keep working with engineers to fix everything.
The car looks tough. Maybe it’s the settings, but I don’t know because I haven’t driven any other cars. It’s definitely harder to fly than in years past – it’s important to find the right balance and find the rhythm.”
