Vettel will not race in Formula E

The other day we talked about the fact that Robin Frijns, who has been playing in Formula E for over a year, has returned to Envision Racing, with which he previously worked, after saying goodbye to the ABT Cupra team.

There was a vacancy in the Spanish-German team and at the beginning of the month we quoted Thomas Biermeier, team principal, who, speaking of the need to find a suitable candidate, alluded to interest in “a driver who lives in Switzerland and cares about us”. about the environment.”

Sebastian Vettel’s name was not mentioned, but everyone understood that it was about him. However, Biermeier seems like wishful thinking, as the four-time world champion has made it very categorically clear that his plans to compete in the electric car racing world championship are not included in his plans.

“I am not in talks with ABR Cupra or any other Formula E teams and I want to make it clear that I am not thinking about returning to motorsport at the moment,” said Vettel.

Incidentally, Biermeier was not the first representative of Formula E to mention Sebastian: Alejandro Agag, one of the creators of this electric series, spoke about him three months ago, but even then it was clear that Vettel was not interested in her.

“I tried to convince Sebastian Vettel to move to Formula E. But he’s busy – I hear he’s already got a new job offer. He is deeply concerned about environmental issues and shares our values in many ways. But we turned to him at the wrong time!” Aga gave in.

During the days of the Goodwood Festival of Speed, where Vettel was received as a special guest, he emphasized that he now has other priorities: “For now I want to keep the freedom to do the things I like, spend more time with children and understand my own moods. what I want to do in the future.”
