Williams Racing is embroiled in a new legal battle

The lawsuit between Williams and the team’s former sponsor, ROKiT, is far from over and the team has new legal troubles.

Another complex lawsuit is brewing in the US, initiated by Claudia Schwartz, who previously headed Williams Racing’s marketing department – the British press writes about this, in particular, the authoritative London newspaper The Times.

Schwartz in the United States sued the team for $100 million, claiming she was forced to leave Williams in order not to pay damages, damaging her business reputation. In particular, the team allegedly leaked information to one of the tabloid publications about its romance with Darren Fultz, the former director of Williams Grand Prix Engineering, which Schwartz of course denies.

The team, in turn, also has claims against Schwartz, who is valued at $6.9 million at Williams, accusing her of organizing corruption schemes that allowed her and her husband, Axel Ludwig, to contract on behalf of Williams with the “necessary” suppliers. Racing, moreover, their amounts were clearly inflated.

Williams declined to comment on the situation, but attorney Jeremy Friedman of Downs Law Group, a US law firm representing Schwartz, released an official statement, saying in part:

“This lawsuit will shed light on what we believe are false public statements by Dorilton and Williams about Schwartz and her company, which we believe were a deliberate attempt to circumvent contractual obligations and pressure Schwartz to remain silent and not defend themselves. But she hit back.”

However, it must be assumed that another scandalous story will have no impact on Williams’ track record as all lawsuits are handled by lawyers hired by Dorilton Capital, the US investment fund that controls the team’s economy.
