Felipe Massa is not surprised by Max Verstappen’s success, admitting fully that the Dutch Red Bull Racing driver will win more than one title, and his successful period will only end when Formula 1 changes to new technical regulations.
“I think until 2026, when the regulations change, Verstappen will win everything,” the 2008 vice-champion said in an interview with Marca newspaper. “Under the current regulations, Verstappen and Red Bull will maintain their dominance and you can expect Max to win all titles.
It is logical to assume that the reforms will be large-scale, everything will be new and then we will see if Red Bull Racing can perform as successfully as it does now. But so far I don’t see anyone who can perform at the same high level as Verstappen.”
In 2023, the Milton Keynes team has gained an overwhelming lead over rivals, the riders having won victories in every Grand Prix that has already taken place. Red Bull Racing left for the summer break ahead of Mercedes, which occupies the second line of the Constructors’ Championship, with 256 points. At the same time, only Verstappen scored 314 points and his teammate Sergio Perez only 189.
