The Noord-Hollands Dagblad writes about the dissatisfaction of taxi drivers with transport restrictions during the days of the Grand Prix in Zandvoort. Only local residents and employees of companies operating there are allowed to enter the autodrome area, access to other cars, including taxis, will be closed.
Every day of the race weekend, more than 100,000 spectators flock to Zandvoort, taxi drivers expecting to make money from this, and were very unhappy with the ban. Previously, temporary taxi certificates were used as an exception, but now a strictly limited number of fans will receive them.
Taxi drivers demanded a review of the decision by the Zandvoort municipality and the organizers of the Dutch Grand Prix and threatened extreme measures – mass protests or blocking access roads to the circuit.
