Lando Norris: I need to keep the momentum going

The summer break in the championship is over, teams have resumed work, including McLaren, and preparations for the Dutch Grand Prix are in full swing. If Lando Norris has been at Zandvoort before, Oscar Piastri will have to get used to the new job for him.

Lando Norris: “We’ve returned! I’ve had a great time being on holiday, talking to friends, family and of course playing golf. I feel like I’m rested and now I’m ready to go racing again as there are two stages coming up , which are held in a row at a weekly interval.

First we go to Zandvoort. This is a very interesting track with profiled curves, where you can choose different trajectories. In addition, there is always a great atmosphere, which makes the weekend even more colorful.

During the first part of the season the team did a great job upgrading the car and this week I’m back working with everyone at the base in Woking as we try to keep the momentum going.

Although we have a difficult race ahead of us, we intend to give our best and continue to earn points.”

Oscar Pistri: “I am looking forward to returning to the circuit after the summer break. I had a great time over the holidays, enjoyed the sun and feel like I have the energy I need in the second half of the season.

Ahead of the Dutch Grand Prix. The track in Zandvoort is new to me, so I’m in the simulator and working with the engineers to prepare as best I can for the weekend ahead. I will be happy to get back behind the wheel of the car to see many McLaren fans in the stands and satisfy them with good results.”

Andrew Stella, Team boss: “The summer break is behind us, it’s time to go racing again. It is good that the team rested and recovered for the remaining ten Grands Prix. We showed good results in the previous four phases, but it became clear that there are a number of areas where improvements are needed.

Zandvoort is one of those circuits with a fairly short lap, but there are many interesting corners. The uniqueness of this racetrack is that it is located in the middle of the sand dunes, which means that the circuit is characterized by alternating ups and downs and has a generally complex configuration.

Thanks to the tireless work of the team, we have been able to improve significantly since the start of the season and in the second part of the championship we intend to make further improvements.”
