Kevin Magnussen is optimistic about the start of the second half of the season…
Q: Welcome back, Kevin. How was your first summer vacation in a family of four, did you manage to relax?
Kevin Magnussen: The vacation turned out to be pleasant, but I did nothing special – I spent time with my family and trained. It was not a nice holiday, but just the rest I needed. Now everything is fine, I’m ready to work again.
Q: The first race after the summer break will be held in the coastal town of Zandvoort. The Netherlands is not that far from Denmark. Have you seen Danish flags in the stands? What do you think of the track?
Kevin Magnussen: This is the stage closest to Denmark, but the race in Zandvoort is all orange. There are always many Dutch fans, who create a special atmosphere and cheer for Max.
I love this track, it’s old, unique and one of those places where it’s really fun to drive a Formula 1 car.
Q: In what mood will the team return to the track after the break?
Kevin Magnussen: We didn’t finish the first half of the season the way we wanted, and we really want to get back to the fray. Some opponents have made progress, I’m sure we can improve too. This is very motivating, we start the second half of the season with optimism.
Q: What races are you most looking forward to? Where is the Haas F1 most likely to succeed?
Kevin Magnussen: We are looking forward to two races in the US, where we want to get good results. Last year we scored points in Austin, this year in Miami, earning points on the home circuits for the team is always fun, especially in front of our key partners. I look forward to these races and hope we will be competitive.
